Hymenachne amplexicaulis (Rudge) Nees

Natural range: Florida to Argentina

Habitat: In our area, open, moist areas

Recognition: Can exceed 3 m tall with stems 1 cm thick.   Leaf bases strongly auriculate, with the lobed flanking the culm.  Panicl is elongate and congested, hot-dog shaped.
