Recognition:
Lower
nodes and internodes pubescent, often strigose. Leaf blades 5-10 mm
wide, pubescent beneath. (Culms and
undersides of leaves glabrous in D. acuminatum and D.
dichotomum). Ligule distinctly 2-layered. Spikelets 1.8-2.9 mm.
The lower glume, distinctively, is half
the length of the spikelet and sharply acuminate.
