Recognition: Leaf blades distinctively narrow (1 mm), with no ligule (vs. ligulate in F. dichotoma). Spikelets > 5 mm long with mucronate (with tiny tooth at the tip) scales (vs. < 5 mm with notched scales in F. cymosa)
