Lasiacis

Lasiacis divaricata (L.) Hitchc.

Natural range:  Mostly Caribbean, Florida to South America

Habitat:  In Florida, mostly a hammock species

Recognition:  Hammock-dwelling, shade-loving grass with weak, clambering or arching stems and with usually broad (to 2 cm), lanceolate leaves having strongly auriculate bases.  Spikelets widely spaced, large, obovate.

Florida status: Native, in S. Florida only
