Recognition: Tall (50-200 cm) rhizomatous plant with drooping inflorescence. Spikelets are paired. Pedicellate spikelets 3.6-5.6 mm, unawned. Sessile spikelets 3.8-6.5 mm, with twisted awns to 13 mm.
