Schizachyrium scoparium (Michx.) Nash

Habitat: Diverse habitats, wet to dry, shaded or sunny
Florida status: Abundant
Recognition: Similar to S. sanguineum but differing by having the fertile lemma split for < 1/2 its length (as opposed to > 2/3 its length) and shorter awn (< 15 mm vs. longer). Differing from most Andropogon species by having single (vs. paired) inflorescence axes.
