Recognition: Leaves extremely narrow (to 3 mm), up to 40-some cm long. Spikelet 1.3 mm. Hairs on spikelets glandular-capitate. Lower glume absent-0.1 mm; upper glume almost as long as the spikelet. Fertile lemma becoming dark brown.
