Axonopus fissifolius (Raddi) Kuhlm.

Recognition: Finer dimensions than A. furcatus. Inflorescence forms a thin Y reminiscent of Paspalum conjugatum or of a delicate Digitaria. Spikelets 1.8-2 mm, pilose. Glume and lower lemma with 2 veins, < 0.9 mm wide. Glume and/or sterile lemma extending beyond the end of the spikelet into a short-acuminate tip.
