Natural range: Southeastern U.S., Bahamas Habitat: Sandy open disturbed sites Florida status: Native, apparently uncommon in our area Recognition: Small (usually < 1 m tall). Leaf blades pubescent, 2 – 5.5 mm wide. Rames not or scarcely exserted, on short peduncles. Sessile spikelet 4.1-4.5 (longer than in A. virginicus or A. glomeratus).
